On Tuesday, September 24, 2024, Governor Dan McKee and Director Jonathan Womer joined RI Council 94 President Mike McDonald and Executive Director Alexis Santoro to sign the newly ratified 3 year Master Agreement. Also in attendance were several leaders from the RI Department of Administration along with RI Council 94 Local Presidents and staff.
Some highlights of the new deal include:
- 5% wage increase in year 1
- 4% wage increase in year 2
- 3% wage increase in year 3
- Implementation of a cost mangement program for certain specialty prescription drugs which could save the State up to an estimated $3.3 million.
- a new voluntary musculoskeletal program that offers personalized care for members with joint and muscle pain which is estimated to save the State up to $1.2 million.
- Additional upfront vacation time for employees with less than 20 years of state service as well as more vacation for those with less than 10 years of state service to help with recruitment and compete with private sector employers.
- Standardized language in preparation for the launch of the new State HR, payroll, and finance system in 2025.
