1st Annual Municipal Softball Tournament

On Saturday, June 20, the RI Council 94 Municipal Conference Board sponsored a softball tournament to benefit North Providence Girls Softball. Members from various RI Council 94 municipal locals gathered at Stephen Olney Memorial Park softball field to play in the tournament.

Municipal Vice President and President of Local 1591, Joe Riccardi said of the event “It was a great success.  Participation is key and our municipal locals delivered by coming together for a fun filled event.  Members were able to successfully bond over conversation about their different locals.  Most importantly, we came together and supported a cause in the community where RI Council 94 is prominent, raising over $300 to support a local youth sports group.  Our Municipal Conference Board plans to hold additional events like this one to support other community causes and organizations across the State.”

President of RI Council 94, Mike McDonald, stated: “Congratulations to Municipal Vice President Joe Riccardi and the Municipal Conference Board on a successful charity tournament.  I’m proud to see our municipal locals come together in solidarity for the good of the communities we all live and work in.  I look forward to our members coming together for future events and causes.”  

The Municipal Conference Board plans to hold a Cornhole Tournament on August 29.
